Facebook Adds Some Features

Facebook has made some updates to their website. It only makes sense that they make this changes with more competition from Twitter and Google+ threatening their company.

This morning I checked my Facebook as I usually did and I was greeted by a large amount of messages point out the new features that had been rolled out over night. Below are some of the new features!

The Blue Corner
This feature will add a light blue corner to updates in your news feed. What's more special about these updates than the other ones is that these are supposedly more relevant to you. Facebook has determined that these updates might be more interesting to you then other by mapping out keywords to posts that you seem to enjoy.

Top Stories
It use to be that you could choose between "Most Recent" news and "Top Stories" for what would display in your news feed. Now Facebook has removed that option. It now permanently display the top stories at the top of the news feed followed by any other updates in chronological order.

The Live News Ticker
This, in my opinion, is a neat little feature. It displays the news as it is posted right in the sidebar. That's about it!
Overall I think it is good to see that Facebook feels threatened by other social networks like Google+ and Twitter. Many people diss-approve of these features but they will get use to them with time... Some people just don't like change.
